One plan to rule them all!

We have been carefully listening to your feedback and based on that we decided to completely change the way Albumino is priced.

What we heard most from many of you was “I’d like to run Albumino on my own domain but I have just few photos and I don’t need the (pricy) Pro account.

We realized that the idea of several plans based on various features did not fit your needs well. So we decided to go and change it from the scratch:

  • From now on, there is only one plan with all features included.
  • The price is EUR 19.99 / year (same price as was for the lowest Standard plan with limited features).
  • The storage limit is 5.000 photos. Worried it’s not enough? Well, it’s more than 100 albums with 50 photos each which is a looooot of photos. It will take you a long time to reach that number, believe us. And even if you do, you may delete your old albums or simply raise your photo limit by another 5.000 photos for additional EUR 19.99.

We think the new pricing plan is great – it is simple and for most of you it is going to be cheaper than the previous plans. We are sure that you will appreciate this new adjustment. Let us know in the comments how it works for you.

We are also considering giving you an option to pay for your account with smaller amounts throughout the year – say, in monthly or quarterly payments. Would you prefer it over one annual payment? If you do, please leave us a comment.

Show your photos big!

We love showing photos big because that’s the way they look the best!

So from now on, Albumino shows photos up to HD+ resolution. What’s the big deal? Look at how exactly the same photo looks on Albumino compared to Flickr on a 20″ display.

See the difference? 6 times difference, actually :) And we are not going to stop there!

We also redesigned the album viewer so that your photos get all the space they can get. Check out the new look at our demo gallery: demo.albumino.com/albums/sweden-2011

What do you think? Can’t wait to read your feedback in the comments!

Nice (and customizable) album URLs

Don’t you know what an album URL is? It is the web address that leads directly to the album. It used to look like this:

yourname.albumino.com/albums/7751813033

Not anymore! Now it is automatically generated from the name of the album. And this is how it looks like:

yourname.albumino.com/albums/trip-to-sweden

Much better, don’t you think so? It also makes it easier for you to share the albums with your friends. Even search engines such as Google prefer this kind of address because they can understand it.

Of course, if you want to modify the automatically generated address, you can. It is really easy. See this short video:

Private albums – new feature!

We released new feature today. It is private albums.

When you set album as private it won’t be listed so no stranger can see it. But you can share the album with your friends. Simply send them link to that album.

This feature is great for photos from your party etc. :)

Merry Christmas from Albumino team!
